The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page. ~St. Augustine
I love this quote. Someday I would like to stencil it on a wall in our dining room.

This journal looks like such a great idea. I always remember my mom and my aunts talking about all of the things we kids use to say when we were small. I’d love to keep track of those things once John starts talking. Boy, I’d love to write down some of the stuff he says now, but it is total gibberish and so, so cute. Last evening at dinner Dave & I could have sworn he was talking like an Ewok from Star Wars.
The company that sells this journal is Chronicle Books and it looks like they’ve got all sorts of neat books, especially for gift ideas.

Another very neat invention! This one will save herbs in the fridge from going bad for up to 3 weeks. I’m always buying (and wasting) especially parsley. This herb savor pod is a very cool idea. The company, Prepara, looks to have lots of other neat gadgets too.

My bathroom is small and the wall space to hang towel racks is extremely limited. I ran across this handy little idea the other day and think it might give us a place to hang John’s towel and guest towels.

This goes in the items to think about making/buying category. Instead of keeping random pieces of paper floating around the house, I’ve been trying to use this blog as my organizer for ideas. This is a neat little item, bedside organizer, and it even holds a box of tissues!

Okay, I am not normally one to purchase plastic silliness, but these little “Peas Cold Therapy” packs actually sound like a legitimately useful item to have on hand with a little kiddo. I’ll have to watch for them to be on sale at CVS.

Just another idea for something I want to remember.
I have this paranoia that our child, while very young, will not know his/her grandparents, aunt & uncle, cousins and extended family back in IL upon sight. So when I saw an ad for these “stack n smile photo blocks” I thought what a perfect idea is might be to have something like that for our kiddo.
Having this soft little block the baby can safely slobber on, chew on, and look at to remember what my parents look like sounds pretty cool!

I’ve been pouring through the zillion baby related magazines that have flooded our home during the past nine months. They came from all sorts of sources and have some neat ideas, but where on earth do you keep track of an idea you might have for a future use without clogging your house with paper…yup, our blog, cuz it has a cool, easy to use category function!!
So every once and a while I’m going to post about something on here that I either thought was a good idea, a neat product to purchase in the future or just something I want to remember. And hey, it might be useful info for someone else too.
I found this ad for a portable placemat that I thought was pretty neat. Not necessarily something I want to buy, but maybe something to try sewing down the road. I always watch infants take those paper placemats at restaurants and with one hand whoosh the food and fragile placemat onto the floor. So the thought of having something more substantial, washable and potentially less likely to end up on the floor sounds good. Plus, I’m all for reusable, washable stuff!

A little something about you, the author. Nothing lengthy, just an overview.
